Wolves need to sell now as Leeds United push again to complete Jorgen Strand Larsen transfer
Leeds United may finally be closing in on Wolves star Jorgen Strand Larsen.
Daniel Farke’s side have had a quiet winter transfer window, other than Leeds signing Facundo Buonanotte on loan from Brighton this month.
Leeds still have hopes of recruiting Fulham’s Harry Wilson, but after missing out on him last summer, they may be disappointed again in 2026.
Ipswich Town are trying to bring in Leeds’ backup striker Joel Piroe, but the 26-year-old wants to fight for his place for now.
That could change if Leeds sign their top target, Strand Larsen, before the 2 February deadline, with a move to Elland Road seemingly more likely now.
Leeds given hope over signing Wolves’ Jorgen Strand Larsen
Last week, Leeds reportedly offered Wolves £39million for Strand Larsen, but that offer was rejected by the Premier League’s basement side.
One thing that stands Farke’s side in good stead is that Strand Larsen and his Leeds-supporting agent are open to an Elland Road transfer.
Wolves are said to be looking for at least £40m for the 25-year-old, who, according to The I, is also being tracked by Crystal Palace if Jean-Philippe Mateta leaves.
Strand Larsen, who has only scored once in the Premier League this season, was the subject of a £55m offer from Newcastle United last summer, but that was also rebuffed.

Now, the I Paper states that Wolves “do need to sell now” as their bargaining position will not be so strong at the end of the season, with Rob Edwards’ side almost certain to get relegated.
Leeds will also propose a structured offer for Strand Larsen, one that allows payments to be staggered, thus avoiding the wrath of the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules.
Will Leeds stick or twist with their squad amid relegation battle?
As the winter transfer window enters its final few days, Leeds have a decision to make: stick or twist?
Some would argue that Leeds need more defensive cover after an injury to Jaka Bijol, who is out for a few weeks.
And with Leeds left-back Gabriel Gudmundsson picking up an adductor issue, Farke’s side are a bit light at the back.
But if Leeds are looking at players that can improve their starting XI, rather than providing strength in depth, Strand Larsen may be the one to fit that role.

Leeds have to be mindful of the fact that West Ham and Nottingham Forest are back in form, with Farke’s side six points clear of the 18th-placed Hammers and one ahead of Sean Dyche’s side.
Leeds have barely lost a game in the past two months, but just as fans were calling for Farke’s sacking in late November, things can change quickly in the Premier League.
