‘Wizard’ – Many Leeds fans wowed by star who was ‘whole level better than anyone’ in int’l clash

Leeds United fans have been raving about striker Rodrigo after he impressed in Spain’s 0-0 draw against Portugal in an international friendly on Wednesday.

Rodrigo, 29, was substituted off at half-time after starting the match in Lisbon on Spain’s right-wing.

Stats by WyScout show that the former Valencia striker, who cost Leeds a club-record fee of £27million in the summer, had three shots at goal, completed 88 per cent of his passes and completed 67 per cent of his dribbles against the Portuguese side.

It has been a good few days for Rodrigo.

Not only did he impress Leeds supporters for his performance against Portugal but he also netted his first goal for the Yorkshire giants at the weekend in the impressive 1-1 draw against Manchester City.

Although Rodrigo has had a slow start to life at Elland Road in terms of his playing time, he’s still managed to show fans glimpses of the quality he can offer once he’s playing more regularly.

Rodrigo’s earned just one start so far in the Premier League, has not played for longer than 45 minutes and has played in multiple positions due to an injury to Pablo Hernandez.

It’s all part of Marcelo Bielsa’s efforts to ensure the forward is properly settled in before using him as a starter but still, from what we’ve seen from Rodrigo this week against Spain, he cannot be far away from a start.

One Leeds fan claimed that Rodrigo “looked a whole level better than anyone else on the pitch” out of Spain’s attackers.
