Leeds United are going strong under Daniel Farke this season, but perhaps the manager will still want to strengthen his side in the January transfer window.

With injuries and fatigue certain to impact the Whites as they push for promotion in the coming months, fans would surely not say no to one or two new arrivals.

One player that has been linked with a move to Elland Road in recent times is 21-year-old centre-back Nathaniel Adjei, with LUFCFANZONE reporting on X (22 November) that the Whites would make an approach for him if a senior centre-back left the club.

According to the Sunderland Echo (20 November), Sunderland, Celtic and Rangers were all targeting the Hammarby defender, while The Sun journalist Alan Nixon reported on his Patreon (5 November) that Preston North End were also eyeing the youngster.

All of those clubs have, however, now been handed a blow, with French club FC Lorient announcing the loan signature of the Hammarby man [official Lorient website, 27 January].

The constant rumours surrounding the centre-back may simply have been his agent putting the player’s name out in the open, and while a move to Elland Road has not come about, a switch to Lorient has.

The failed transfer shouldn’t worry Farke too much, with the Whites currently resolute at the back thanks to the partnership between Pascal Struijk and Joe Rodon, with Ethan Ampadu filling in at the back expertly when needed.

It has been a quiet window so far for Leeds, particularly in terms of outgoings, with Farke instead focusing on letting players go.
