Willy Gnonto twist emerges at Elland Road in Leeds United transfer news
West Ham do not hold an interest in Leeds United star Wilfried Gnonto during the January transfer window, according to the Mirror.
The newspaper reported via their website on 18 January that David Moyes’ side are prioritising attacking reinforcements this month, but Gnonto is not one of their targets.
It comes after it was shared by Sacha Tavolieri [18 January] that Gnonto looks likely to join the Hammers before the end of the January transfer window, which has now been refuted.

Relief at Elland Road
Despite the surprising lack of game time Gnonto has received under Daniel Farke so far this season, it will still come as a relief to Leeds fans and the club that West Ham’s interest in signing him this month now seems to be nonexistent.
Gnonto remains one of the most exciting and talented players at Elland Road and showed what he could do in the Premier League last season which inspired huge waves of interest in his signature, so for him to remain at the club would be a huge boost.
The Italian has started just seven Championship games so far this season, with Daniel James and Crysencio Summerville the first-choice options, averaging just 34 minutes per game from a total of 21 appearances under Farke.

That lack of game time does not necessarily represent a lack of impact, more that James and Summerville have shone and made themselves undroppable, so Gnonto’s value to Leeds remains high and it would be a blow to see him depart half-way through the season.
