Willy Gnonto pushes to quit Leeds United as medical scheduled

Willy Gnonto is pushing to quit Leeds United, according to Sacha Tavolieri.

The Belgian journalist reported via his personal X account on 21 August that Gnonto, 20, wants to leave Elland Road with the Championship club in pursuit of two new attackers before the transfer window shuts next week.

It is understood that Almeria left-winger Largie Ramazani is scheduled to undergo a medical after a fee of around £9.9million was agreed between the Segunda Division side and the Whites [Fabrizio Romano].

Tavolieri claims Ramazani is one of two wingers Daniel Farke wants to bring in with Gnonto “pushing to leave” the Yorkshire club.

Willy Gnonto tries to leave Leeds United again after failed Everton move

Oh, no. It’s happening again.

While it remains to be seen if this is true or not, it wouldn’t be a shock after Gnonto handed in a transfer request to join Everton last summer.

He obviously failed to complete that move but it just shows that the Italy international does have it in him to agitate for a transfer away from Elland Road.

And with Ramazani on his way from Almeria, Gnonto could be seeing his place in Farke’s plans under major threat just three games into the season.

Leeds’ winless start to the season, coupled with an exodus of players worth well over £100million, has upset supporters.

Hardly anyone has been brought in this summer but finally, there’s been a breakthrough with Ramazani on his way to West Yorkshire from Andalusia in south-east Spain.

Ramazani plays in the same position as Gnonto though, so it makes sense for him to be trying to leave Leeds.

But Farke shouldn’t allow that. He needs Ramazani and he needs Gnonto to compete for that left-wing spot with one another while Gnonto can also fill it on the right and even up front.
