Wilfried Gnonto exit update emerges at Leeds United as Brighton hold quadruple transfer talks

Brighton have held talks with Leeds United over four players including Wilfried Gnonto during the summer transfer window, according to Graeme Bailey.

The journalist reported via TBR Football on Tuesday (2 July) that the Seagulls have spoken to the Whitees about Crysencio Summerville, Glen Kamara, Georginio Rutter and Gnonto in recent weeks.

Reports have suggested Daniel Farke’s side has rejected an opening £30million offer from the south coast side for Rutter this summer following Archie Gray’s big-money exit to Tottenham [Beren Cross, 2 July].

Leeds are understood to be not looking to sell the Frenchman this summer, however, their stance on potential exits for Kamara, Gnonto and Summerville remains slightly less clear.

Will Leeds United sell Wilfried Gnonto in summer transfer window at Elland Road?

Leeds United have already lost one of their biggest stars this summer in Gray and they won’t be in any rush to let any of their other talents depart, especially not so soon after the teenager’s move to Tottenham.

While it is not clear if Brighton’s conversations over the other three players led to bids as was the case with Rutter, this interest serves as just another reminder of how hard it will be to keep players having missed out on promotion.

Premier League have money to spend and with the profit and sustainability deadline now passed, they are almost free to spend it. The question will be whether or not Leeds have the power and determination to turn down offers.

Hopefully, the Whites will do everything in their power to stop their biggest stars from departing as it would put a massive dent in their promotion bid. But if big money is put on the table, it won’t be easy to turn it down.

Leeds supporters can only hope that the rejection of the £30million offer for Rutter will serve as a reminder that the Whites won’t let their players exit on the cheap.
