Wilfried Gnonto changes agents as Leeds United exit mooted for summer transfer window
Wilfried Gnonto has changed his agent ahead of a potential Leeds exit this summer, according to Leeds Live.
Writing on their website (20 June), the news outlet reports that the Italy international is no longer working with the agent who sent a written transfer request to the club’s board and journalists in the 2023 summer window.
The player’s wishes are not known this summer but he is likely to attract interest after the Whites failed to earn promotion to the Premier League, and a new agent is likely to mean a “new strategy” if he decides his future lies elsewhere.
Leeds United to sell Wilfried Gnonto this summer?
There are likely to be some exits from Elland Road this summer, and the attacking quality of the squad is likely to be picked apart.
Phil Hay has already admitted Crysencio Summerville is expected to move on [The Athletic, 27 May] with Brighton having already made their move [Fabrizio Romano, 18 June], while Georginio Rutter and Gnonto have been linked with moves away [GiveMeSport, 18 June] also.
But with Gnonto’s history of pushing for a move and not wanting to play in the Championship, you could make the argument that his exit is more likely than anyone.

The 49ers stood firm when it came to his situation last summer, but after 12 months of commitment from the 20-year-old, they’re likely to be more open to an exit this summer.
It’s certainly a situation to pay attention to in the coming weeks and months, but Gnonto has made sure he is represented properly this summer in case the same scenario emerges.
