The West Yorkshire outfit's demands struck a nerve with Piroe's agent, whose complaints have since been paying off, with negotiations progressing.

While there's no confirmation on the final agreement, the striker's departure seems imminent after his recent struggles in LS11.

Piroe has been behind Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha in the pecking order at Leeds since last summer.

The pre-season has shown that Farke still counts on the Englishman and German striker as his two preferred options.

Calvert-Lewin and Nmecha have put in some encouraging performances in the recent friendlies and they look ready for the 2026-27 campaign.

Piroe's exit feels best for all parties involved, with West Ham surely in need of a player who has experience of winning promotion from the Championship.

It's easy to forget that the Suriname international was the top goalscorer in the league when the West Yorkshire outfit secured Premier League promotion.
