Watford latest club to join hunt for Leeds United target Calvin Ramsay
Leeds United are facing yet more competition for the signature of Calvin Ramsey as Watford have joined the chase for the Aberdeen man, reports Alex Crook.
The Evening Express were reporting yesterday that the Whites had made a £3million bid, while Serie A’s Bologna have offered £4.8million to land the player before the window shuts.
And The Daily Mail have previously reported that Manchester United, Leicester and Tottenham were all interested in the youngster who will reportedly cost more than £6million to land.
Now talkSPORT’s Crook reports on his personal Twitter account: “Understand #WatfordFC have joined #LUFC and #Bologna in the race to sign #Aberdeen right-back Calvin Ramsay”.
Crowded field
Marcelo Bielsa could use some back up in the right-back position in case Luke Ayling follows other key first-team figures like Kalvin Phillips and Patrick Bamford in being ruled out with long-term injury at any point.
But this is not the transfer that United fans will be hoping for, so perhaps the interest from all angles signals that it is not worth sticking with.
If Aberdeen want £6million but Leeds have not offered that amount then they presumably don’t think he is worth that.

It is a fee that any Premier League side should be able to readily consider, so if they really wanted him they surely would have already wrapped up a deal.
The worst thing to do for a player who will not immediately improve the first-team would be to get dragged into a late-window bidding war that means paying over the odds.
The young Scot has been a prominent performer for the Dons this season, making 22 appearances so far, including 14 in the SPFL.
His minutes are increasing as the season goes on, which suggests the 18-year-old is developing well.
If they want him they should pull the trigger, a sentiment Leeds fans are surely feeling with regards to a number of players who have been linked.
In other Leeds United news, the club have reportedly made a late approach for this striker who would take a big offer to land.
