Victor Orta wants Sevilla to sign Middlesbrough star Seny Dieng after what he learned at Leeds United
Sevilla are said to be one of many sides interested in signing Seny Dieng with former Leeds United Sporting Director Victor Orta pushing for the move, according to The Telegraph.
Mike McGrath reported on the newspaper’s website on 3 April that the Spaniard could make a move for the Middlesbrough goalkeeper.
Dieng moved from QPR to Boro this summer and has performed well and another summer move could be on the cards.
The report suggests that there could be lots of movement from goalkeepers in the upcoming transfer window with Dieng being one.
On that, McGrath said: “Middlesbrough’s Seny Dieng has interest from Premier League and European clubs ahead of a busy summer of trading for goalkeepers. Dieng, 29, has caught the eye with his performances in the Championship with Boro after joining from QPR in the summer.
“Ipswich are admirers of Dieng and they could be playing in the Premier League next season, while Sevilla have also watched the Zurich-born goalkeeper with the Spanish club’s sporting director Victor Orta, who used to work at Boro and Dieng knows him from his time facing him at Leeds.”
Could Seny Dieng be an option for Leeds United?
Given that Orta is pushing for a move with his new club, it may point towards a scouting drive for the keeper at Leeds.

The Whites are staring promotion to the Premier League in the face and transfers are going to be in the back of Daniel Farke’s mind.
Last campaign they conceded the most goals in the division with 78 which saw them have a negative goal difference of -30.
This could see the club opt to bring in a new goalkeeper option this summer to help combat any leaky defence issues.
Dieng could be a useful option. With nine clean sheets this season he has the joint seventh-highest number in the division. This doesn’t compare to Ilian Meslier who leads the standings with 17.
Compared to his peers over the last 365 days he ranks in the 92 percentile for post-shot expected goals per shot on target [Fbref].
Although this sounds like jargon, it points towards him making saves against shots he isn’t expected to stop regularly.
As a backup option for Meslier potentially in the Premier League next season, Dieng could be a positive signing for Farke and Co.
