Victor Orta may clash with Jesse Marsh as Leeds United ready for Charles De Ketelaere move

Leeds United are waiting in the wings to sign Belgian forward Charles De Ketelaere after AC Milan have once again failed to strike a deal, as reported by The Mail.

Simon Jones reported on 26 July for the newspaper that De Ketelaere has been Leeds’ No 1 target this summer, and the Whites are ready to pounce with a £31million for the 21-year-old.

Jesse Marsch and Victor Orta may clash over transfer strategy on this. Orta is convinced that Leeds would benefit from another versatile striker, and hence the Whites are not giving up on the chase for the youngster.

The Whites boss, however, is more circumspect. He is working on tweaking his formation.

Marsch wants Leeds to be more compact, and he believes the Whites now have enough players who can contribute goals from midfield.

Clash of ideas?

This has been a massive transfer window for the Whites. Despite losing Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha this summer, Leeds did extremely well to bring in new players.

While adding loads of players is exciting for the fans, it poses a different challenge for the club. It takes time for the players to gel, and it may not give you results instantly.

In this case, Marsch feels that he has enough depth now in attacking areas. With Jack Harrison likely to stay put, there is enough quality in the forward department.

However, Leeds do need another striker to their ranks. Patrick Bamford remains the first-choice option, but he needs competition for his place as well.

On top of that, it remains to be seen, how he performs after being out for so long last season. Joe Gelhardt is an exciting prospect, but Leeds probably need another solid back-up option.

Milan are not completely out of the race as yet, but they are finding it really hard to agree to a deal for the youngster.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites have submitted a fresh bid to sign their first-choice target this summer as a Champions League club has pulled out of the deal.
