Victor Orta gives thumbs up to Leeds United fans at Elland Road
Victor Orta has been spotted at Elland Road by Leeds United fans keen to see whether Daniel James will be arriving at the club tonight.
Multiple Leeds fans have uploaded video clips of Orta pacing around an office at Elland Road on the phone. The director of football was also seen giving fans a thumbs up.
There’s a chance that Orta was signalling to fans that a deal for Manchester United winger James has been wrapped up with The Athletic’s Phil Hay reporting that the 23-year-old Wales international is due to travel to Leeds on Monday night.
As good as done?
You can clearly see in the video clips above that Orta is on the phone, wheeling and dealing ahead of the 11pm transfer dealine.
He’s also shown after that giving the thumbs up to the Leeds fans outside, suggesting that whatever discussions happened on the phone had a positive outcome.
It has to be the deal for James, doesn’t it?
With so many top journalists reporting that James is on his way to Elland Road, there’s a very good chance this deal will be done in time for the transfer deadline.
We all saw two and a half years ago how a deal can break down at the last minute but this time it has to be different – this time there shouldn’t be any late hiccups.
Swansea backed out of that deal in 2019 because they wanted to keep James but Man United look as though they’re making a big profit on the Welsh attacker and he doesn’t seem to be in the plans of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
James just has his medical left, it seems, before the signing is rubber stamped.
Orta looks confident in these video clips and we’re confident too.
In other Leeds United news, this midfielder is set to exit Leeds permanently before the deadline.
