Tyler Roberts leaves Leeds United after spell in Yorkshire, heads back to QPR

Tyler Roberts has returned to QPR to undergo “light training” after returning to Leeds United while injured, according to West London Sport.

The news outlet reported on 6 April that Roberts, 24, might be available for selection for QPR before the end of the Championship season.

It is understood that the on-loan Wales international had been at Thorp Arch in Yorkshire for treatment but now he’s at a level where he can train again, he’s headed back down south to West London.

Good luck, Tyler

Roberts has had a stinker of a season at QPR.

He’s started just 14 Championship matches during his loan spell in West London and hasn’t played for the Rs since their 3-0 defeat away at Hull City on 28 January.

QPR have won just once in the league since then – in 10 games.

Roberts’ return to fitness probably won’t be enough to turn the tables at Loftus Road because their rotten form does extend back a lot further than the Welshman’s absence.

He did, however, score twice against Reading in mid-January and also netted earlier this season in a 2-1 win away at Bristol City.

But overall, Roberts’ time in the capital hasn’t been a happy one as he’s been plagued with injury issues and has only completed 90 minutes of a match on one occasion, which was that win at Ashton Gate on 1 October.

Will he be back at Leeds for next season?

If we’re a Championship club, he’ll be a good option to have for some extra depth. But if we stay up, Roberts has to be let go.

Hopefully he can get back to fitness, play some games for QPR, do well and win himself a good move in the summer.
