Tyler Adams expected to depart Leeds United after relegation confirmed – Phil Hay
Tyler Adams is expected to leave Leeds United this summer after the club’s relegation to the Championship was confirmed, according to Phil Hay.
The Whites saw their three-year top flight stint ended thanks to a 4-1 defeat to Tottenham on the final day of the campaign, meaning several of their top players are now expected to leave the club.
But after initial hope they would be able to keep the USMNT skipper at the club,The Athletic are now reporting that Adams is expected to be one of the departures from the club during the transfer window.

“Leeds’ relegation likely means a departure for the squad’s other two Americans as well. On-loan midfielder Weston McKennie will return to Juventus and Tyler Adams is expected to depart as well,” he wrote (29 May).
Too good
It’s fair to say that most Leeds fans will be of the opinion that if Adams was fit for the final two months of the season then we probably would have stayed in the Premier League.
Defensively the team was a complete shambles after his hamstring injury ended his season early, conceding a record amount of goals in April when he wasn’t around and then not being able to do the job Sam Allardyce needed.
A leader on and off the pitch, he would have been the perfect man to rally the troops in the final games and would have been perfect to lead us back to the Premier League next season.

But it’s clear to everyone that he is far too good to not be playing in the top flight of whatever league he is in and the fact he is expected to leave won’t be a surprise to anyone at all.
It’s a shame it had to end this way, but if we see Adams in Leeds colours again it’ll be a pleasant surprise at this point.
In other Leeds news, the club are expecting a relegation release clause for one player to be triggered this summer.
