Transfer bombshell: Leeds midfielder deal hit the skids – Sky Sports journalist

Leeds United have seen their bid to sign Michael Cuisance from Bayern Munich hit the skids, according to Sky Sports Germany journalist Max Bielefeld.

Reporting via his personal Twitter account on Thursday night, Bielefeld said that the 21-year-old’s proposed move to Leeds has “failed” because the two clubs could not agree upon a transfer fee.

Leeds looked as though they were on the cusp of signing Cuisance and Marcelo Bielsa, speaking in his press conference on Thursday, even refused to speak about the French midfielder out of fear of a Daniel James scenario being repeated.

Telefoot journalist Julien Maynard reported on Tuesday that Cuisance was due in England to complete a medical earlier this week so it does seem as though the Bayern midfielder has turned into Dan James 2.0 if Sky Germany’s update is true.

What a major blow this is for Leeds.

The deadline for signing new players from outside of the Premier League and EFL is Monday and the club was surely hoping to get the Cuisance deal over the line well before then.

Leeds play Manchester City on Saturday, which could get in the way of Bielsa signing off on new transfers so there’s going to be a big rush on Friday, Sunday and Monday to get something done.

Leeds obviously want a new face in their midfield but time is not really on their side.

They’ve failed to agree a fee with Udinese for Rodrigo De Paul and the same has happened here with Cuisance.

Hopefully, one of Leeds’ targets will become available for a fee they’re willing to pay in the coming days otherwise Bielsa’s midfield will be looking very light with Pablo Hernandez and Adam Forshaw struggling for fitness.

In other Leeds United news, the BBC have received complaints about this former Elland Road star.
