Tottenham interested in Leeds United gem Ollie Pickles, another Premier League side also linked
Tottenham are one of two Premier League clubs showing an interest in Leeds United youngster Ollie Pickles, according to Alex Crook.
The talkSPORT correspondent shared via the broadcaster’s website on Tuesday (26 March) that Newcastle United are also keen.
Pickles, 16, is a regular for the Under-18s side and has earned comparisons with former Leeds favourite Kalvin Phillips, who joined Manchester City for £42million [Sky Sports].
Crook said Pickles is “already attracting admiring glances from Newcastle and Tottenham after helping Leeds to the semis of the FA Youth Cup”.
Who is Tottenham target Ollie Pickles?
Leeds have a habit of bringing through some extremely talented academy players, the most recent example being Archie Gray.
Despite only turning 18 this month, Gray has been one of the first picks on the team sheet this season, whether as a midfielder or defender.
Gray’s progress into the first team goes to show that Daniel Farke is willing to turn to youngsters should they show they can plug a gap.
Pickles has played 11 times in the Under-18s Premier League this season, starting a little under half of those matches.

Due to his ability on the ball and his awareness in terms of spotting a pass, Pickles has earned comparisons with Phillips.
Whether it is Gray or Phillips, Leeds may well have another talented gem on their hands that breaks into the first team before long.
Tottenham and Newcastle United may be interested, but Pickles will hopefully be at Elland Road for years to come.
In other Leeds United news, Daniel Farke will be desperate for a positive update after what happened to a first-team regular on Monday (25 March).
