Tottenham proposal sent as Leeds United mull over Archie Gray offer
Tottenham have hijacked Brentford’s move for Leeds United starlet Archie Gray and have already sent him a “verbal proposal,” according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian Journalist took to X on 30 June and stated that Spurs already have a “green light” from Gray to pursue a deal this summer.
Romano also highlighted that the midfielder was “keen” on a move to the north side of London.
Why Leeds United should let Archie Gray join Tottenham
The last couple of days have been fairly hectic for everyone involved at Leeds United due to the ongoing Gray transfer saga.
Although the West Yorkshire outfit don’t actually need to make any major sales this summer thanks to the investment from the Red Bull group, a sale would no doubt help any future battles with PSR they may have.
In addition, the reported fee of £40million [Graham Smyth, 29 June] is an extortionate amount of money for the youngster, who has only had one season as a regular first-team player.
A deal with Spurs could also lead to the likes of Oliver Skipp and Joe Rodon coming to West Yorkshire.

These moves would no doubt help Leeds’ promotion push and would make more sense for the club as they could have a ready-made replacement in Skipp.
It would also take out the middleman and allow them to have a replacement almost instantaneously.
The fact that the pair have both worked with Daniel Farke previously also bodes well for the team to gel sooner.
Supporters may not want to see Gray leave, but the large sum of money and potential replacements make it a deal worth at least considering.
In other Leeds news, the Whites have been given a potential boost in bringing Connor Roberts back.
