Tottenham make approach to sign Leeds defender Pascal Struijk
Tottenham are among multiple Premier League sides who have checked on signing Pascal Struijk from Leeds United, according to Graeme Bailey.
The Dutchman has represented one of the most consistent players under Daniel Farke this campaign so interest from above won’t come as a surprise.
The Whites are keen to keep hold of the 25-year-old but the prospect of joining up with billionaire-owned North Londoners appears to be on the table.
Speaking to Leeds United News on 14 December, Bailey said: “Struijk is coming into his prime and has really been under the radar to a lot of people – not Leeds fans – but he is very much on the radar of a number of Premier League clubs.
“A left-sided defender and he is real quality and I am told Tottenham are amongst those who have checked on him.
“Clearly, Leeds want him to stay and will look to tie him down to a new deal, but him staying long-term will be dictated by Leeds getting back to the Premier League.”
Tottenham interested in Pascal Struijk Leeds United
The longer that it takes Leeds to earn promotion from the Championship, the more their best players are going to be linked with a move away.
The defeat in the playoff final against Southampton spelt an end to life at Elland Road for Cyrsencio Summerville, Georginio Rutter and Archie Gray.
These represented huge blows for Farke’s side and if this season doesn’t go how supporters expect, Struijk could be next to leave.
The former Ajax academy star has proved to be an excellent signing for the Whites and has become a mainstay of the side for the last five seasons despite multiple injury concerns.
His partnership with ex-Spurs man Joe Rodon at the heart of defence in LS11 has proved to be one of the strongest elements of the squad in the past two years.

Losing the versatile defender to Tottenham would certainly represent a blow given how tough he would be to replace.
If a new deal can be agreed, interest from North London may dry up but it remains to be seen whether he would want to stay and reject a Premier League move.
