Tottenham not alone in Harry Gray pursuit as ‘sensational’ news comes out of Leeds

Harry Gray caught Tottenham’s eye as he made a substitute appearance in Leeds United’s 6-0 win over Stoke on Monday.

The Whites’ heavy win over the Potters at Elland Road proved enough to clinch promotion to the Premier League, as Burnley defeated Sheffield United at Turf Moor.

Gray’s four-minute cameo marked his senior debut for Daniel Farke’s men, but the 16-year-old has already generated transfer interest from Premier League Tottenham.

The teenager’s older brother, Archie, has impressed for Ange Postecoglou’s men since joining from Leeds last summer.

Don Goodman predicts further transfer interest in Leeds starlet Gray

Gray is yet to be named in Farke’s starting 11, but Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman expects that Spurs are not the only high-profile side interested in his services.

Goodman told Football League World (25 April): “Personally, I don’t think Spurs are going to be on their own when it comes to high-end clubs scouting Harry Gray.

“The reports coming out of Elland Road are sensational, in that this could be a very special talent, maybe even more so than his brother Archie, which would be an incredible feat.”

The teenager will hope to be named in Farke’s matchday squad once more when the Whites host Bristol City on Monday, while Dan James remains a fitness doubt.

Gray should not have his head turned yet

Gray is an exceptionally talented youngster, which was epitomised when he made his Championship debut at the age of just 16 on Monday.

The starlet could still have a part to play as Leeds look to fend off Burnley and beat the Clarets to the second-tier title by winning against Bristol City and Plymouth in their last two games.

Gray has represented England at Under-17s level, so Premier League interest in his services was always predictable once he made his Championship debut.

Furthermore, Spurs will have faith that the 16-year-old could be an asset for them, thanks to the strong performances of his older brother Archie in North London this season.

However, with the entirety of his career still ahead of him, Gray should be keen to stay with the Elland Road club for now, as he has already been handed game time by Farke.

Gray will now hope to have an impact as Leeds prepare themselves for Monday’s clash with playoff chasers Bristol City.
