Torino in hunt to sign Leeds United star Pascal Struijk as they prepare goodbyes

Torino are eying Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk with the Italian club preparing to say goodbye to centre-back Alessandro Buongiorno, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Writing on his official website, the Italian journalist claimed that Struijk is popular in Turin, with the management working to improve their defence.

Torino have already lost several players this summer and they are also dealing with a couple of injuries, meaning they’re in desperate need of reinforcements.

And now with Buongiorno having reached a basic agreement with Napoli, the situation has become even more dire.

Struijk has so far made 121 appearances for the Whites, scoring nine goals and providing one assist.

What Pascal Struijk brings to the Leeds United team

Struijk’s return to Leeds United is a big deal for the team. Since his groin injury on Boxing Day, Leeds have really felt his absence.

Without Struijk, Ethan Ampadu had to keep switching between defence and midfield, which wasn’t ideal.

While Joe Rodon and Ampadu make a solid pair at centre-back, having Struijk back means Ampadu can stay where he’s most effective.

Struijk brings a lot of flexibility. He’s likely to be Rodon’s partner in central defence, but he can also fill in at left-back if needed.

This is especially important until Leeds can strengthen their full-back positions.

Struijk’s presence will make the team more stable and balanced, allowing the midfield to function better and giving Leeds a stronger overall defence.

His return is set to be a huge boost for the squad, helping to shore up the backline and improve the team’s performance.
