Three Spanish clubs show interest in Leeds defender Junior Firpo, he wants to play in Spain

Three Spanish clubs, Osasuna, Celta Vigo and Real Sociedad, all have an interest in Leeds United left-back Junior Firpo, who has expressed his desire to play in Spain, according to Ok Fichajes.

The Spanish news outlet reported on 22 July that Firpo’s future remains up in the air, although a move to Spain looks most likely, as his reputation is still high following his spells at Barcelona and Real Betis.

The three named Spanish sides are considering different possibilities to sign Firpo as Leeds United would be willing to negotiate a deal for the defender, with offers on the table.

Firpo should be the next name out the door

Firpo should be the next player allowed to leave Elland Road this summer, whether Leeds allow him to leave on loan like other stars or look to bring in some money for him after two years in Yorkshire.

His performances towards the end of the Premier League season which saw the club get relegated were below average, particularly as he was sent off in their 2-2 draw with Newcastle, all but putting an end to his Leeds United career.

The player’s desire to return to Spain means any one of these three options should appeal, and the deal will just come down to Leeds United’s own demands with regard to his transfer.

His departure would add to a clear out of stars at Leeds United this summer which already includes Brenden Aaronson, Robin Koch, Diego Llorente and Rodrigo just to name a few, as the club look to refresh their squad ahead of the new Championship season.

In other Leeds United news, one winger could be set for an audition in front of his new manager against Monaco.
