‘This is spectacular’: Many Leeds fans happy as 29yo who snubbed Leeds on brink of late transfer
Leeds United fans are taking great pleasure in the fall of Derby winger Florian Jozefzoon, with the 29-year-old on the brink of a late transfer.
Jozefzoon snubbed a move to Leeds in the summer of 2018 and angered owner Andrea Radrizzani after he decided to join Derby instead.
“We received the contract from the club [Brentford] and we had written approval from the agent,” Radrizzani told the Yorkshire Evening Post.
“Then, on the way to the medical check here, they change ideas and go to another club. Honestly, I’m happy he didn’t come here. Good luck to him but we don’t want people like this.”
And it seems that the former Brentford man made the wrong decision.
Marcelo Bielsa had signed his first contract with Leeds a month earlier and has now taken the club back to the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Jozefzoon has struggled at Derby and only made six starts in the Championship last season.
Now, it seems that he’s moving to Rotherham, who were playing in League One last season, with Telegraph journalist Mike McGrath tweeting, “Derby forward Florian Jozefzoon heading to #Rotherham ahead of EFL deadline.”
And, to think he could be playing in the Premier League now after two years of improving under Bielsa.
These Leeds fans couldn’t resist taking a dig on Twitter…
