This is how many signings Leeds United could make before 1 September deadline – ‘Can be mad’

Daniel Farke is hoping to welcome more signings through the doors at Elland Road before Monday’s transfer deadline day.

It has been a busy summer, with Leeds United’s £8million signing of James Justin from Leicester City marking the 10th arrival.

The defender took the Whites’ spending to over £100m this summer, in what has been a huge effort to prepare Farke’s squad for Premier League football.

Leeds beat Everton 1-0 on the opening day, but the last week has left some fans wondering if further additions are required before the window closes.

Sheffield Wednesday knocked Leeds out of the Carabao Cup on penalties on Tuesday 26 August, and Arsenal smashed Farke’s men 5-0 at The Emirates last week.

Leeds expected to add another attacker before Monday

Leeds have signed Noah Okafor from AC Milan, to add to the arrivals of Lukas Nmecha and Dominic Calvert-Lewin in attack.

But with Farke’s side scoring just one goal, and none from open play, in their three opening games, attentions are still focused on bolstering the options going forward.

Dilane Bakwa looked set to snub Leeds to join Nottingham Forest, although Fulham have reportedly jumped to the head of the queue in recent hours.

Graham Smyth reported on 28 August that the expectation is that one attacker will arrive before the window’s deadline, however, with the journalist adding that the “late window can be mad”.

Smyth explained that there is a possibility that late opportunities will arise for Leeds to make further signings, or that a late, unplanned, departure could prompt a replacement being sought.

Dilane Bakwa deal is still a possibility for Leeds

It is hard to see a better option than Bakwa on the market for Leeds in the final hours of the transfer window.

The winger would provide exactly the type of threat out wide that Farke will be looking to add to his attack, after he registered 15 direct goal contributions in Ligue 1 last season.

Whilst Leeds have seemingly fallen to the back of the race for the Frenchman, until a deal is done, the Whites still have a chance to give Strasbourg the reported £30m they are looking for.
