Swansea City deny receiving bid for Joel Piroe amid Leeds United transfer interest
Swansea have denied receiving any bids for striker Joel Piroe after Leeds were linked with a move on Wednesday, according to BBC Sport.
Writing on their official website (23 August), the news outlet report that the Welsh club have denied receiving any bids for the 24-year-old forward despite being aware of growing interest in his services.
Leeds are one of several clubs said to be interested and were linked with a bid by Alan Nixon on Wednesday (23 August).

“Swansea City say they are yet to receive an offer for Joel Piroe despite significant interest in the striker,” they wrote.
“Piroe has been linked with a host of clubs this summer including Leeds, Southampton, Leicester and Everton.
“But while Swansea are aware that clubs are targeting the 24-year-old, the Championship side are adamant no bid has been received.”
No shock
The way transfers work these days a bid is one of the last things that happens for the most part, with the clubs holding talks to find a middle ground before something is officially submitted.
That is likely to be the case here as Leeds tabling an offer just for it to be rejected quickly would benefit nobody in this situation.

Swansea are said to want around £15m for their striker but with his contract due to expire next summer the Whites are hopeful of paying less than that, and that is what talks are currently centred around.
But there isn’t much time remaining in the window and our need for a new striker who is reliable in front of goal means that we need to get this over the line quickly, especially with so much interest in him from elsewhere.
We’ve seen already what can happen if we’re too slow like with Max Aarons, so the quicker this gets sorted the better for everyone. Daniel Farke wants him, so the 49ers must deliver.
