Sunderland transfer emerges on the table for Leeds United winger Ian Poveda
Several clubs including Sunderland are interested in signing Leeds United winger Ian Poveda, according to Diario AS.
As reported on 9 May by the Colombian publication, the former Manchester City man is attracting interest from fellow English clubs Burnley and Luton Town if they are relegated, as well as the Black Cats.
Poveda was part of the Sheffield Wednesday squad to secure survival in the Championship this season, having spent a loan deal at Hillsborough since January.
The winger has made his bow for the Colombian national team within the past year, and having spent a nomadic time at Leeds with three loans, will be looking for a club with whom to settle down.
Will Ian Poveda leave Leeds United permanently this summer?
Poveda evidently has talent, and his stock has risen since becoming a full Colombia international.
It’s credit to the man himself that he has been willing to seek regular football at different clubs, but he will want more than anything to settle down.
Daniel Farke said he made no mistake loaning out Poveda, and that the club have a decision to make in the summer – of course the Leeds boss will be vague whilst their fate is still uncertain, but uncertainty is what the player will have had enough of.

A full international attacking player proven in the Championship should be alerting most clubs at that level – a move to Burnley or Luton should they come back down could see Poveda challenge for promotion whilst playing regular football if he hits the ground running.
Should he go to Sunderland, Poveda will expect to be a regular starter and could make an impact in the division’s youngest squad, should talisman and top goalscorer Jack Clarke get a Premier League transfer.
