Sources share Tottenham Hotspur stance as Leeds United eye permanent Joe Rodon deal
Tottenham Hotspur have told Joe Rodon that he is not part of the club’s future plans as Leeds United eye a permanent deal, sources have told HITC.
The online source reported [15 March] that Ange Postecoglou is open to allowing the 26-year-old to leave at the end of the season, mainly due to the arrival of 22-year-old Radu Dragusin.
It is understood that the Whites are interested in sealing a permanent deal for the Wales international, who has impressed at Elland Road this season on loan, and it is not dependent on promotion to the Premier League.
Will Leeds United sign Joe Rodon on a permanent transfer in the summer?
Whether Leeds can claim promotion to the Premier League this season or not, getting Rodon to put pen to paper on a permanent transfer is vital for the club.
The defender has been an exemplary player for Daniel Farke in the Championship, cementing himself as one of the first names on the teamsheet and becoming a fan-favourite at Elland Road.
Having played 34 of Leeds’ 37 league matches so far, Rodon has created the most formidable defence in the Championship, conceding the fewest of any teams in the division, partnering up with Ethan Ampadu, Pascal Struijk and Liam Cooper at different points in the campaign.
Spurs signed the defender from Swansea City in 2020, investing £11million into the centre-back, as per BBC Sport, which the London side will be keen to make back if he is to leave the capital permanently.

While it may take a large proportion out of Leeds’ summer transfer budget, especially if promotion cannot be obtained this season, it is an essential signing for the Whites, and Farke will certainly know this.
Obviously, playing so well in the Championship has brought attention to Rodon, with teams such as Crystal Palace keeping tabs on the situation at Elland Road, which is why the situation needs sorting sooner rather than later.
