Sky Sports detail Brentford-Benrahma update amid Leeds speculation

Leeds United fans would be over the moon if the club signs Said Benrahma this summer after he tore up the Championship last season.

The Express has reported that Benrahma, 23, is on Leeds’ radar this summer and the Whites are prepared to bid up to £20million to sign him from Brentford.

David Prutton has suggested that the Algeria international would be a good signing for Leeds if they can get a deal over the line while The Athletic journalist Phil Hay has suggested he’d be the club’s number one attacker target if a deal is likely.

Sky Sports News have now reported on their live transfer blog [Thursday, 02:57pm] that Brentford have sounded out a potential replacement for Benrahma.

The broadcaster reports that the Bees will pursue a move for Nuremburg winger Robin Hack if they lose £25million-rated Benrahma amid speculation surrounding his future in West London.

While it does not mean that Leeds are any closer to signing the Algerian ace, it does mean that Brentford are planning for life without him and could be more receptive to a bid if they have a replacement lined up.

We don’t know much about Hack but we know enough about Benramha to say that he would be the perfect addition for Leeds this summer.

He has pace, he knows where the back of the net is, he works hard, he’s skilful – he has everything a Marcelo Bielsa winger needs.

Bielsa is a big fan of consistent team selections but surely he would break the mould for a player as good as Benrahma if a deal can be done.

In other Leeds United news, there’s been an update on Bielsa’s contract discussions.
