Sheffield United respond as Leeds United submit summer Jayden Bogle transfer offer
Leeds United have seen a bid for Jayden Bogle already rejected by Sheffield United this summer, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
The outlet reported on its website on Sunday (14 July) that the Whites’ interest in the Blades defender is genuine, but their opening offer for his services has been thrown out of Bramall Lane by Chris Wilder’s side.
Daniel Farke’s Whites remain interested in signing the 23-year-old and Wilder has offered them some hope by admitting every Sheffield United player will be available for the right price ahead of the new season.
Will Leeds United sign Jayden Bogle in the summer transfer window at Elland Road?
This was never going to be an easy deal for Leeds United to pull off this summer as Sheffield United were never going to be keen on strengthening a promotion rival unless they pocketed a big fee for the defender.
Farke’s side don’t appear to be willing to give up on Bogle despite the fact their opening offer has been knocked back so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Whites submit an improved offer sooner rather than later.
With Archie Gray, Jamie Shackleton and Connor Roberts all departing Elland Road over the last few months, Leeds simply have to sign a new right-back as they cannot be reliant on Sam Byram to start every week.

Byram is an excellent defender, but his fitness and injury record over the course of his career has been poor and it is unlikely that will change this season. Leeds simply have to sign somebody to provide some sort of depth.
Hopefully, they can tempt the Blades into parting ways with Bogle if and when they decide to table an improved offer. Should they decide to walk away from talks, they have to turn their attention to other targets quickly.
