Sheffield United make Jayden Bogle decision as Leeds United close in on transfer

Sheffield United may give Jayden Bogle permission to miss their pre-season clash with Chesterfield as a move to Leeds United moves closer, according to The Star.

The Sheffield-based outlet reported via its website on Friday (19 July) that the Whites have already seen two offers rejected for the right-back, but are confident their latest offer will match the Blades’ valuation.

Unless any last-minute stumbling blocks emerge, the 23-year-old is expected to be absent for Chris Wilder’s side’s pre-season friendly on Saturday (20 July) with the transfer potentially advancing over the weekend.

Will Jayden Bogle exit Sheffield United amid Leeds United transfer speculation?

While nothing is set in stone quite yet, Leeds United appear to be close to solving their right-back problem this summer as Bogle seems set to become the latest addition to Daniel Farke’s first-team squad.

With Archie Gray completing his big-money move to Tottenham and Rasmus Kristensen heading out on loan to Eintracht Frankfurt, Farke was always going to need to provide Sam Byram with some genuine competition this summer.

Bogle may still be young, but has has shown throughout his brief career so far that he can be incredibly effective in the Championship and he was one of the Blades’ better players in an otherwise dreary Premier League campaign.

Farke was able to get the best out of Gray in that role last term and if he does the same with the 23-year-old, he could well have a defender who is ready to make the step up to the top flight with the Whites in the future.

Hopefully, no late obstacles emerge to throw this potential transfer into doubt as it would be a shame for this deal to fall through in the final stages.

Some Leeds fans will now be keeping a close eye on the teamsheet for the Blades’ clash with Chesterfield.
