Senior sources share late transfer talks at Leeds United as more deals on table

Leeds United look very quiet heading into the final hours of the transfer window.

From the very start of the window, strikers appeared to be the priority at Elland Road, although little progress has been made on that front.

Leeds made a £39million bid for Jorgen Strand Larsen from Wolves earlier in the month, but that was rejected, proving that money is available.

Unfortunately, Strand Larsen is finally heading to Crystal Palace, with few other rumours around.

Leeds United in talks over late transfers, but for whom?

Mohamed Amoura has been linked with Leeds, with the Wolfsburg striker left out of the latest matchday squad for the Bundesliga for disciplinary reasons.

Nothing has followed that, but the Whites could do with an extra couple of faces.

Injuries to Jaka Bijol and Lukas Nmecha hit hard as Leeds lost 4-0 to Arsenal, with Karl Darlow joining Lucas Perri in making goalkeeping errors again.

Despite strong links to strikers, The Athletic say that talks have covered every position in this winter window; however, with available and affordable targets the priority.

Senior sources say Farke has been included in those talks with the recruitment team, with players wanted who can make an instant improvement to the starting squad.

What areas could Leeds target at last minute?

With Strand Larsen on his way to Palace, Leeds really are back to square one.

The ultimate mistake would be ending this window with zero signings and blaming PSR, which seemingly isn’t an issue given the millions offered to Wolves in vain.

Adam Underwood has already faced severe questions from fans since taking on his role at Elland Road, but that would be the final straw for many.

Strand Larsen is set to join Igor Paixao and Rodrigo Muniz on the failed transfer targets this season already, with the failures stacking up.

Of course, there have been plenty of positives, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin topping that list.

But one injury to the England international could totally unravel the entire season, so Leeds must look to take advantage of the final 24 hours of this transfer window to come.
