Sean McGurk could arrive at Leeds United in next 24 hours

Leeds United could complete the signing of Wigan attacking midfielder Sean McGurk in the next 24 hours, according to LeedsLive.

The news outlet claims that after a year of tracking the 18-year-old, the Whites are finally poised to sign him.

It is understood that terms have been agreed and McGurk is now due at the West Yorkshire club to undergo a medical.

We’ve been seeing speculation linking Leeds with a move for McGurk for what seems like a very long time.

Leeds have already had success from pinching Joe Gelhardt from the Wigan set-up so we don’t see why McGurk cannot arrive with similar expectations.

The young attacker has never made a senior appearance in his career, which is one thing that probably should mute expectations slightly but nevertheless, he’s still a player who Leeds seem to have wanted for long time.

And if they’ve wanted him for a long time – you can bet that Victor Orta and his recruitment staff are super confident he can deliver at Elland Road.

Leeds have started to move through the gears in terms of their transfer dealings.

Amari Miller has already joined up to be a part of the Leeds Under-23s squad next season and we expect that McGurk will do the same.

Jack Harrison and Junior Firpo, whose arrival was confirmed on Tuesday, have also been signed up permanently for the first team.

We’re encouraged by this blizzard of activity at Elland Road and hope it continues in the coming weeks.

While it’s great to see young talent arriving, we’d also like to see Marcelo Bielsa get himself one or two new central midfielders ahead of next season while another winger wouldn’t go amiss either.

In other Leeds United news, Oli McBurnie has sent a surprising message to Kalvin Phillips.
