Ryan Lowe shares Preston transfer reveal about Leeds United loan star Sam Greenwood
Preston’s former manager Ryan Lowe has revealed that he “worked his socks off” to sign Sam Greenwood on loan from Leeds United in the summer.
The 22-year-old joined North End for the season in July and has contributed this season so far with three goals and one assist in the Championship.
This leaves the Whites loanee as Preston’s number one for goal involvements so far this campaign, which has clearly pleased former manager Lowe.
Speaking live on Sky Sports News (6 November, 8:05pm), he said: “Definitely, Definitely, we worked our socks off all summer to get him on loan and he’s paying dividends now.
“He’s doing a fantastic job, scoring goals and it’s a fantastic area for him to hit the target. We were attracted because of his set pieces, left foot, right foot, free kicks, wide free kicks.”
Ryan Lowe shares Preston reveal for Leeds United ace Sam Greenwood
It did feel that this season could be the one for the ex-Arsenal academy starlet to prove his worth at Elland Road, but it hasn’t turned out that way.
With the likes of Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter leaving during the last transfer window, there was space for an attacker to make their presence count.
Brenden Aaronson has returned to the Whites and made a positive impact which has seen him cement his role in the side.
With the American international featuring regularly in the Championship, it has proved to be a wise move to allow Greenwood to go out on loan, after spending time at Middlesbrough last campaign.

He has had a positive impact on Preston and at 22 it could be one of his last chances to make an impression on Daniel Farke at Leeds to ever make it in the first team at Elland Road.
It is clear that there are plenty of Championship sides and managers who admire him, Lowe included, which would love to have the attacking midfielder.
