Rodrigo Muniz ‘waves goodbye’ with transfer fee to be agreed next after Leeds latest

Rodrigo Muniz has been Leeds’ primary striker target throughout the transfer window.

Muniz was viewed as the perfect option to fire Leeds to Premier League safety after an eight-goal season last time out.

Leeds and Atalanta have reportedly offered £34.5million to sign the Fulham star, and it appears that a transfer is close.

However, the Elland Road outfit look to have moved on already after a new update emerged on the Brazilian on Wednesday.

Leeds set to miss out on Muniz

Leeds have agreed a deal to sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin, but they still need more firepower to stay in the Premier League.

However, it does not seem like the Fulham man will be joining the ex-Everton star, as Jack Kelly reported on 13 August that Muniz has waved his goodbyes in West London ahead of a move to the Serie A side.

He stated that a fee needs to be agreed upon, then a move to Italy will be sanctioned for the 24-year-old, rather than a switch to the Whites.

Farke needs another striker quickly at Leeds

Calvert-Lewin could be an excellent signing if he can stay injury-free and get back to form, but that is not a guarantee by any means.

Farke needs another striker through the door, as his current options are not enough for the Peacocks to stay up.

Joel Piroe won the Golden Boot in the Championship last season, but he has never played in the Premier League before, and there are doubts over his ability to do so.

The LS11 outfit have already let Mateo Joseph leave on loan to Mallorca, and Patrick Bamford is no longer in Farke’s plans and could be allowed to leave.

The 49ers need to secure the German a regular starter up front, who can contribute more than Piroe and Calvert-Lewin.

However, it does not seem like Muniz will be that man, so they will have to move on to alternative targets, and they have to do it quickly, as the season starts in just five days against Everton.
