Rodrigo likely to exit Leeds United on loan, European transfer needs to go through amid £100,000-a-week reveal
Rodrigo is likely to leave Leeds United on loan this summer with a move to Sevilla on the cards, according to Diario AS.
The Spanish newspaper reported on Friday (23 June, page 14) that Sevilla need to free up wages before they can sign the 32-year-old Leeds forward, who has one more year left on his contract at Elland Road.
It is understood that Papu Gomez could be moved on by the Europa League champions in order to afford a move for Rodrigo, who’d been earning £100,000-a-week at Leeds in the Premier League [The Times].

No loan
If Rodrigo is going to leave Leeds, we’d much rather he went on a permanent basis.
Spanish news outlet COPE reported on 7 June that a £3million release clause is active in the Spaniard’s contract due to Leeds’ relegation from the Premier League.
While that isn’t much money, we’d rather see Leeds pocket that fee now, get Rodrigo off their wage bill and reinvest in the squad instead of striking a loan deal.
If Rodrigo was loaned out, he’d be open to pre-contract offers from abroad in January and would likely leave on a free transfer next summer.

Leeds would miss out on millions.
In an ideal world, Rodrigo would stay.
We’d accept him leaving on a free transfer if he sees out the Championship season at Elland Road and plays a major role in our bid to return to the Premier League.
Rodrigo was one of our best players last season – if not the best player – so losing him at all would be sad.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are ready to accept an agreeable bid for this first-team star.
