Rodrigo medical underway to quit Leeds United, documents to be signed within hours – Fabrizio Romano
Rodrigo’s medical at Al-Rayyan is “ongoing” as the Leeds United forward edges closer to a permanent exit from Elland Road, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Writing on the CaughtOffside Substack on Thursday (13 July), Romano claimed that Rodrigo’s move to Qatar is a “done deal” with the Italian transfer guru even adding in his “here we go” catchphrase to signal that everything is in place.
It is understood that Rodrigo, 32, is now waiting for documents to be completed and later on Thursday, the Spain international will sign his deal at Al-Rayyan.

All the best, Rodrigo
It’s annoying that last season was Rodrigo’s best in a Leeds shirt.
He had three seasons in the Premier League with the Whites after becoming a record signing from Valencia in 2020.
Unfortunately for him, Patrick Bamford’s shock form in 2020/21 meant Rodrigo struggled to play in his preferred role up front before his 2021/22 campaign saw him scored just six goals in 31 Premier League games.
Last season, the former Valencia attacker scored 15 times in 35 appearances across all competitions.

He netted against Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham twice and Manchester City but still was unable to help keep Leeds in the Premier League.
If everyone raised their game last season like Rodrigo did, we would have maybe finished in the top half again.
Rodrigo doesn’t deserve to be playing in the Championship and with him at the age he’s at, we don’t blame him for making the move to Al-Rayyan, where he’s bound to earn a lot of money.
We wish him all the best in Qatar.
In other Leeds United news, the club have been handed a boost to sign a Manchester United player this summer with Erik ten Hag likely to sanction his exit.
