Report: Leeds ready to bid £5m in race to sign striker involved in 20 goals this season
Leeds United are ready to offer £5million in a bid to sign striker Cyle Larin from Besiktas in the summer, according to Milliyet.
However the Turkish news outlet claims there could be an issue for Leeds as Larin, 24, is currently on loan at Zulte Wagerem and they are set to trigger their option to buy clause for the Canada international.
Larin has scored nine goals and supplied 11 assists in 31 appearances across all competitions since joining Zulte on loan in the summer and the Belgian club are now ready to activate a £2.1million clause to make his stay permanent.
It is hard to see Leeds making concrete plans for the summer transfer window at the moment as they are not sure what league they are going to be playing in next season.
You would hope that if they do win promotion to the Premier League that they would be trying to sign strikers who are a bit more proven than Larin.
Although he’s impressed at Zulte Wagerem this season, the Belgian top-flight is still a league that many would say is of less strength than the Championship.

It is a good league for young, up-and-coming players to make a name for themselves before moving on to bigger clubs but Larin turns 25 in April and is already at the peak of his development.
Larin wasn’t amazing in Turkey, scoring eight goals in 26 total appearances.
If Besiktas are willing to sell the former Orlando City striker then that should say a lot.
Leeds are not missing out here, really.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are in pursuit of this English midfielder whose future will be up in the air in the summer.
