Reliable journalist shares how Leeds and Arsenal reacted to speculation on Nketiah in past month
The future of Eddie Nketiah at Leeds United is starting to become somewhat of a puzzle for everyone involved.
It has been a month filled with speculation, where at one moment he is set to stay in West Yorkshire, but the next he is ready to return to the Emirates Stadium.
But, Phil Hay revealed on his personal Twitter account this morning that the 20-year-old is close to returning to Arsenal and that the Whites could be lining up a new striker to replace him.
The Sun journalist Alan Nixon has recently delivered an update on the view that Leeds and Arsenal shared on Nketiah as early as last month.
Writing on his personal Twitter account on Thursday, Nixon claimed that the two clubs have the same stance on the young forward and that was that he will stay at Elland Road.
It was claimed that a number of different clubs have attempted to tempt the youngster to leave the Whites but that they were turned away by both parties.

Strange because other clubs tried in last month and were told he was staying … by both parties 😳 https://t.co/9TVFPW7uDB

Given that other clubs were apparently turned away, it seems strange that could have changed in the space of a month – especially with Nketiah finally cementing his spot back on the bench after being injured.
Marcelo Bielsa finally utilised Nketiah alongside Patrick Bamford last time out against Fulham, and that could lead to the young forward getting more game time after he saw that it could work with those two together.
