Red Bull Salzburg tell Leeds United they’re open to selling Brenden Aaronson
Leeds United have been told by Red Bull Salzburg they are open to selling Brenden Aaronson in the summer, according to Express journalist Ryan Taylor.
Leeds pushed hard to sign Aaronson, 21, in the January transfer window, tabling two bids worth £15million and £20million for the USA midfielder.
However, both were rejected with Salzburg adamant they would not sell one of their star players midway through a season.

But Leeds’ bid to sign Aaronson isn’t dead in the water as Taylor claims there’s a line of communication between them and Salzburg that suggests a summer move is firmly on the cards.
“He’s clearly the long-term target,” Taylor told GiveMeSport.
“Obviously, he suits Marcelo Bielsa’s style of play, and Victor Orta as well is prepared to wait until the summer, and I think it’s now been communicated between the clubs that Salzburg will be open to doing business this summer at the end of the season.”
Third time lucky
Leeds cannot go another transfer window without bolstering their midfield.
It was bad enough to go through January without signing anyone in that position with options light there even without Kalvin Phillips injured.

But it would be unthinkable to go through the summer without additions in the middle of the park.
Mateusz Klich’s form has been better lately but there have been major signs the Poland midfielder isn’t quite the same player he once was while Stuart Dallas is constantly being called upon to play at full-back.
Adam Forshaw has been terrific this season, perhaps only Raphinha has played better for Leeds this season than him. But there’s always going to be a worry there’s an injury around the corner for him, while he’s definitely a player who Leeds can upgrade upon.
As for Phillips, there could be a club come in for him in the summer after West Ham were widely reported to have made a bid for him last month.
Leeds cannot come up short in the summer and Aaronson is clearly a player who Bielsa really wants in his team.
Leeds really need to move fast in the summer.
