Real Betis work on deal to sign Leeds attacker, talks scheduled

Real Betis could once again look into signing a Leeds United ace as the summer window looms.

The Whites had an excellent campaign in the Championship, but now all attention will be on the transfer market, ready for the Premier League.

This is likely to see a number of changes in Daniel Farke’s squad, with a number of incoming deals already targeted at Elland Road.

With that being said, big-name sales won’t be on the agenda in LS11 as Real Betis look set to hold talks with the summer in mind.

Real Betis schedule talks with Leeds United

There has been no shortage of transfer rumours around the West Yorkshire club since promotion from the second tier was confirmed.

One of those has seen Junior Firpo linked with an exit as his contract looks set to come to an end at Elland Road.

This has seen Real Betis emerge as a potential destination for the Dominican Republic international in a potential return to the LaLiga outfit.

Although no move has yet gone through for the left-back, it appears that Manuel Pellegrini’s side aren’t done with their attempts to sign players from Leeds.

This has seen Betis draw up plans to hold talks with the Whites after the season finishes, and after their Europa Conference League final, over the signing of Mateo Joseph, according to Mundo Deportivo (18 May).

The Spanish outlet has reported on the Andalusian club’s hierarchy, who see great potential in the 21-year-old forward and looks set to pursue his signing.

With the Spaniard’s contract running until 2028, negotiations are bound to be difficult regardless of their desire to sign the young striker.

Joseph sale could be regret at Leeds United

It does feel as if Joseph is one of the brightest talents that Leeds have to offer right now, despite a difficult season in the Championship.

Despite starting the season as the number one striker option, Farke soon opted to back Joel Piroe instead of the Spaniard.

This could represent a knock to his confidence, although there is every chance that Premier League football could be good for his growth.

Joseph certainly represents a more forward-thinking option than someone like Patrick Bamford, and as a result, a sale at this stage could prove to be a poor move in LS11.
