Real Betis react as Leeds United make Diego Llorente transfer decision
Real Betis are confident a deal to sign Diego Llorente is not yet off the table despite Leeds United rejecting their first bid, according to Eldesmarque.
The Spanish outlet reported on 3 July that the relationship between Betis and the West Yorkshire outfit is still “fluid.”
The La Liga side are still working on a deal to make the move happen and expect to have no problems in doing so thanks to Llorente’s eagerness to join.
Betis’ initial bid was worth £5.1million but that was deemed unacceptable to Daniel Farke [Adam Pope, 3 July].
What does the potential departure of Diego Llorente mean to Leeds United?
Although Leeds fans knew that they’d likely seen the last of Llorente when he departed to Roma 18 months ago, it may have come as a bit of a surprise that his most likely destination is linking up with former Leeds man, Marc Roca.
The duo were brought in when the Whites were in the Premier League and failed to do enough to keep them in the top flight.
Leeds’ relegation resulted in the club losing a plethora of players on loan deals across Europe and beyond with the hopes of them returning to a team in England’s top division.

However, evidently this wasn’t meant to be and it feels as if Farke’s men have found themselves back to square one.
The arrival of Joe Rodon [Alasdair Gold, 2 July] will make fans quickly forget about the Spaniard, who needs to leave permanently to move on fully.
Leeds likely won’t get much of the £18million they spent on the former Real Madrid man back should he depart, but, whatever they do manage to garner will no doubt go towards strengthening the squad.
In other Leeds news, the Whites’ stance on the futures of Crysencio Summerville and Willy Gnonto has been shared.
