Rasmus Kristensen transfer decision emerges after new Leeds United talks

Leeds United defender Rasmus Kristensen is now more likely to join Eintracht Frankfurt on loan for next season, according to Florian Plettenberg.

The Sky Sports journalist has reported that direct talks are underway, with a loan now more likely after a permanent deal was on the table at first.

This comes soon after it was stated that Kristensen was favouring a switch to the German club over a return to Denmark (Tipsbladet, 16 July).

Leeds United to sanction Rasmus Kristensen transfer

It looks as though Kristensen is eager to get this deal done, which is charming given he was one of the reasons behind Premier League relegation.

With that being said, a loan is more likely than a permanent deal – which could be disappointing given the potential to raise more cash at Elland Road.

Following his first and only campaign with the club in the Premier League, he ventured out on loan with Serie A giants Roma last season, failing to catch the eye there.

If Leeds had been able to get over the finish line at Wembley and gain promotion, who knows, perhaps he’d be one of the names on the team sheet at Elland Road.

With the chance to join another who jumped ship in the shape of Robin Koch, it looks as though Leeds and the 49ers Enterprises are set to get rid of more deadwood.

Either way, it’ll be fascinating to see how he continues to develop his game with Frankfurt.
