Rasmus Kristensen medical scheduled for Leeds United exit, will join new teammates on Monday

Leeds United right-back Rasmus Kristensen is set to undergo a medical ahead of his proposed move to Roma, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The transfer guru is reporting that the Danish defender’s medical will take place at the weekend as he prepares to leave Elland Road on loan.

Di Marzio believes that subject to everything progressing smoothly over the next few days, Kristensen will then link up with his new teammates in the Italian capital on Monday.

Off the books

It’s no surprise to see a deal for Kristensen now moving quite quickly as it was extremely unlikely the Danish international was ever going to be part of the club’s bid to gain promotion back to the Premier League at the first attempt.

It will be good for Leeds to have some clarity on the situation and have the defender off the books, allowing new boss Daniel Farke more room to bring in the players he wants to make up his squad for the upcoming season.

While it hasn’t necessarily worked out for the 25-year-old in a Whites shirt, his effort levels were always high and he did show commitment to the cause despite the club suffering relegation last season.

Leeds United

Securing a transfer to an Italian giant such as Roma – even if it is only on loan – is a great move for the full-back and he’ll likely view it as an opportunity to get his career back on track.

The most important thing for Leeds, though, is that a deal looks to be close to completion and the club can move on.

In other Leeds United news, another exit-linked star has seen his move held up by financial constraints at a Spanish club.
