Rasmus Kristensen makes Leeds United transfer confession
Rasmus Kristensen has revealed that he rejected an offer from Midtjylland in favour of joining Eintracht Frankfurt on loan from Leeds United in the summer.
The 27-year-old joined the Bundesliga on a season-long loan ahead of the 2024-25 season, but also had the option to move to his former club in Denmark.
While the terms on offer convinced the right-back to move to Germany, he can see himself rejoining Midtjylland one day.
“It’s true, there was this offer [from Midtjylland]”, Kristensen told a press conference, as transcribed by Fussball Transfers [28 November].
“But the package from Frankfurt was the better one, and they also had a good concept.
“Nevertheless, I can imagine coming back at some point to give something back to the club.”

Meanwhile, Kristensen has settled into life in Frankfurt, making 12 appearances across all competitions for the club, albeit a hamstring injury recently put him off his stride.
The Bundesliga outfit are seemingly keen to make the Denmark international’s loan move permanent.
However, they have no plans to trigger the £12.5million buy option included in their agreement with Leeds United and would rather negotiate a lower fee [Bild].
In fact, Frankfurt are hopeful of snapping the defender for a sum “far” below £8.4m.
The Elland Road outfit forked out £10m to sign him from Red Bull Salzburg in 2022 and it remains to be seen if they are prepared to compromise on the transfer fee to see him.

Nevertheless, it appears Kristensen does not have a future in Yorkshire even if the Whites return to the Premier League.
Daniel Farke has Jayden Bogle and Sam Byram in his ranks and is unlikely to welcome the former Ajax man back into the squad.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites may have to compromise to get this player off their books in the January transfer window.
