Raphinha worth three times what Leeds United paid for him with exit on the cards next January

Rapinha could be worth around £51million, three times what Leeds United paid to sign him from Rennes in 2020, according to The Sunday People.

The newspaper reported via their print edition on 20 February [page 56] that the Whites plan to reject any offers for the 25-year-old winger in the summer transfer window.

However, it is understood that Leeds may hold out until January 2023 after he’s played for Brazil at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The Sunday People adds that Leeds are in talks with Raphinha about getting him to sign a new contract amid speculation linking him with Manchester United, Liverpool, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

It is reported that Leeds are relaxed about Raphinha’s situation though as they feel the World Cup later this year will have a positive effect.

Super Raph

Leeds should not think about selling Raphinha at all until a club comes in with a massive offer for the Brazil international.

Even if it’s around the £51million-mark, that’s not enough.

Raphinha has been Leeds’ most important player this season and he’s also been one of Brazil’s stars in their World Cup qualifying campaign.

Leeds United

He’s bound to be big in Qatar later this year and as a result of that, his value is likely to go up even more.

We feel as though the only thing that would mean Raphinha is seriously likely to leave in the summer is if Leeds are relegated – but we’re confident that will not happen despite our less-than-safe league position.

Raphinha could play for most teams in the world and he’d get into every Premier League starting line-up there is with the exception of two or three clubs.

He’s worth a fortune and Leeds cannot except any less than a truck-load of cash for their star Brazilian.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay says this low-earning Leeds player cannot force his way out of the club in the summer.
