PSG to utilise 49ers relationship to sign Leeds United loan star Diego Llorente in complicated January transfer
Paris Saint-Germain are in the hunt to sign Diego Llorente, who is currently on loan at Roma from Leeds United, according to L’Equipe.
The French newspaper reported via their website on Tuesday (9 January) that PSG are eyeing up the 30-year-old despite a deal for him this January being complicated by his loan deal at Roma.
Jose Mourinho has played the Spain international regularly but it is understood that PSG will use their good relationship with 49ers Enterprises and the leadership at Roma to broker a January deal.

It is noted in the article that Llorente played for Spain under Luis Enrique, who is now in charge at PSG.
Whoever wants him, have him
Even if Leeds win promotion back to the Premier League this season, Llorente isn’t a player many will want to see sticking around.
He wasn’t great for us in the top flight and seems to be much better suited to playing in continental Europe.
He’s obviously doing something right at Roma for Mourinho to keep playing him because he joined the Italian club on loan last January before signing again on loan in the summer.

In that time, Llorente has made 35 appearances in all competitions for Roma despite having some niggling injury issues and what seemed to be a rough start to life in Italy.
He’s undroppable for Mourinho now and it’s understandable for PSG to want him because he’s played in Serie A, La Liga and the Premier League and has done brilliantly at teams in Italy and Spain.
French football isn’t too dissimilar and it should, if anything, be easier for him at PSG.
In other Leeds United news, a fellow Championship side have made an approach to seal one of the club’s attacking players on loan.
