Piotr Zielinski primed for January exit as Leeds United ready transfer – Wages revealed

Leeds United already have an eye on potential transfer targets for the January transfer window.

Leeds signed 10 players in the summer transfer window, yet the belief among supporters is that several key positions remain to be filled with Premier League quality.

Whilst a winger has to be a priority, another top-level midfielder could help unlock defences that have managed to keep Leeds at bay.

Whilst Anton Stach and Sean Longstaff have impressed for Leeds, Zielinski would add an extra bit of attacking quality to the midfield

Italian outlet Calciomercato has reported that Zielinski is primed for a move away from Inter, with Leeds looking to be the side that is the most interested.

Zielinski currently earns £75,327 a week at Inter, and it’s expected he would earn more should he join the Peacocks in January, where he remains popular.

The experienced midfielder joined Inter from Napoli on a free transfer ahead of the 2024-25 season, and was an instrumental part in Inter’s brilliant run to the Champions League final.

However, under new manager Cristian Chivu, Zielinski has failed to get consistent minutes, and as he’s the sixth-highest earner in the squad, a January exit looks incredibly likely.

Zielinski has been on Leeds’ shortlist for quite some time, and it would be a major coup if they were to acquire his services.

Zielinski has been playing in Champions League knockout matches throughout his career, yet who is the 31-year-old midfielder, and how could he improve Leeds?

Who is Piotr Zielinski?

Having earned 101 caps for Poland, Zielinski has had an illustrious career for both club and country.

After excelling at Napoli for many years, he was pivotal to their 2023-24 title win and finally gained recognition as one of the most talented midfielders in Europe.

Whilst he played in a more attacking role in Naples, at Inter under Simone Inzaghi, he was used deeper as part of the midfield three.

He has the ability to excel in both boxes, and should he join Leeds, he’d be expected to come in for Longstaff or Stach to offer more technical ingenuity in Leeds’ chance creation.

The deal to sign Zielinski won’t be an easy one, yet if the 49ers can get the deal over the line, Leeds’ chance of Premier League survival would dramatically increase.
