Phil McNulty reacts as Leeds United transfer news emerges
Phil McNulty has shared his verdict after midfielder Tyler Adams secured his move from Leeds United to Bournemouth.
The US international completed his switch to the Premier League side on Sunday (20 August), with the BBC reporting that the Cherries signed him for “significantly more” than his £20million release clause that expired on 14 August.
Responding to the news, BBC journalist McNulty tweeted on 20 August that he believes the 24-year-old is a “really good signing” for the south coast side.
Surprising
It’s a little bit surprising that Adams has decided to make the move to Bournemouth after he has been linked with a number of bigger sides this summer.
The midfielder looked like he was heading to Chelsea before the move broke down in the final stages and this latest development shows that he was just keen on joining any Premier League side.
It’s good news for Leeds that they are believed to have secured a much higher fee from the Cherries than they were expecting to receive after his release clause expired.

McNulty is right that the American looks like a good signing on paper for Bournemouth if they can keep him fit and he is likely to feature heavily in their side this season.
The Whites will be pleased that this transfer saga has come to a close as they will be looking to use the money they have earned to strengthen a number of areas of their side as the transfer window closes in less than two weeks’ time.
In other Leeds United news, one player could be set to be offered a new contract despite wanting to leave the club.
