Phil Hay shares Leeds update on Crysencio Summerville deadline day exit
Phil Hay is expecting a quiet deadline day at Leeds as there is ‘no sign’ of Crysencio Summerville leaving on loan, despite interest.
The Whites have been linked with an attacker during this window, with Takumi Minamino named as a target [Sky Sports] for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
If Minamino or another attacker had joined the club, it was expected that Summerville would leave on loan with Bundesliga 2 side Hamburg at the front of the queue [BILD].

But according to the ever reliable Hay, there is ‘no sign‘ of Summerville leaving the club on deadline day and that means any incomings are unexpected.
20-year-old Summerville has made eight first-team appearances so far this season for Bielsa’s side, but wants regular first-team football away from Elland Road.
There is interest from teams in the Netherlands too in the winger.
Quiet
A quiet day of business is a bad day of business as far as Leeds are confirmed in this transfer window.
Despite several links across the window this month, the Whites haven’t signed anyone for the first-team during January despite clearly being in need of strengthening.

Leeds have had a lot of injuries this season and a lot of problems getting results, currently sitting in 15th in the Premier League with just seven points between them and the relegation zone.
While some players have returned from injury and Leeds have picked up a win in two of their last three games, they’re not in the clear yet.
Without strengthening the side, Leeds run the risk of suffering the same problems once again in the second half of the season and that could bring their Premier League run to an end.
