Phil Hay shares latest Leeds update as Sinisterra deal goes past deadline

Bournemouth’s move for Leeds United winger Luis Sinisterra has now gone past the 11pm deadline, with a deal-sheet scenario necessary to complete the move, according to Phil Hay.

The Athletic journalist shared the update via his personal Twitter account, stating that Bournemouth could need to apply for an extension to their transfer window to get this one over the line.

With just 17 minutes to go until the deadline closed, Sinisterra was still in the middle of medical checks ahead of the potential move, while doubts had emerged over whether the deal would be completed.

Don’t go to bed yet

This seems to happen every transfer window. There is always one deal that goes past the deadline, leaving everybody involved in complete uncertainty as to whether or not the deal will go through, with fans struggling to follow conflicting reports from all over.

For Leeds, whether this deal goes through or not could be a make-or-break moment for their season, and it will all be decided in an extended period following the closure of the transfer window at 11 pm after Bournemouth applied for a deal sheet to extend their chances.

Leeds were hoping to keep hold of Sinisterra for the rest of the season as they have managed to achieve with both Wilfried Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville – the other star wingers at Elland Road – and that could yet be the case as this one drags on.

If they manage to keep hold of all three players, it will be considered a success despite the level of talent that has left Elland Road in a mass exodus this summer. These are difference-makers, and players that can decide a season when pushing for promotion.

In other Leeds United news, a last-gasp £25m+ bid was made for another Leeds star.
