Phil Hay shares if Leeds transfer priority will be central midfield
Phil Hay has shared that the next transfer priority of Leeds United will very much likely be a central midfielder.
Fans have been urging Andrea Radrizzani to open his chequebook in that area, but a move has failed to materialise.
Hay insisted that a move in January is still unlikely, given how Victor Orta believes the winter window is poor value for money.

Writing in his latest edition of the Athletic’s Mailbag, Hay shared that fans may have to wait until this season ends.
“Central midfielders,” he said. “What else is there to talk about? At least one other person took this further by asking whether a new centre-mid will be a priority next summer, to which the answer has to be ‘yes’.
“But January? I’m not convinced the club will do much in January unless the league position is causing acute concern.
“From my perspective, if the season is in hand at the turn of the year, then I’d hold off and gear up for a major midfield addition when the season ends. I think we can all see that it has to be done.”

No surprise.
Everyone involved will know that the entire circus surrounding the midfield has severely backfired at Elland Road.
Radrizzani must regret coming out on Twitter and sharing that Adam Forshaw was the “new” midfield signing, only for him to pick up even more injuries and leave us light on options.
Kalvin Phillips, Mateusz Klich and Stuart Dallas are the three senior options in the side, but when all three start they have no one to rotate with.
We saw this in the game against West Ham when the latter two were knackered but had no one to replace them with and we went on to lose the game.
The Whites simply have to strengthen in this area, let’s cross our fingers that waiting until next summer isn’t too late.
